Audrey Davis-Sivasothy Takes a Science-Based Approach to Hair Care Therapies for a Plethora of Damage.

In her new book, “Hair Care Rehab: The Ultimate Hair Repair and Reconditioning Manual,” health scientist and hair-care guru Audrey Davis-Sivasothy provides the blueprint and tools readers need to salvage and work with stressed-out hair.

“The book is for everyone,” she says, “brunettes, blondes and those with straight, wavy, curly, textured, thick and fine hair. It has tested, science-based solutions for every problem, from chemically dependent hair to taming the frizzies.”

Davis-Sivasothy’s new book comes on the heels of her wildly successful, best-seller, “The Science of Black Hair” (http://www.blackhairscience.com).

“Hair Care Rehab” takes readers through three phases of recovery:

  •     The Intervention: Discusses hair structure, type and form. Also defines hair damage, and teaches you how to work with overworked hair.
  •     The Detox: Presents a five-step strategy for hair repair.
  •     Hair Therapy: Offers tips and solutions for more than 30 common scalp and hair care issues.

“If your relationship with your hair is on the rocks, this book is the manual that will put it back in the honeymoon phase,” the author says. “Between blow-drying, teasing, flat-ironing, highlighting and lowlighting our hair, it seems we do all we can to punish it and our scalp. Hair health is real, and these methods work.”

Hair Care Rehab” deals with problems both general and specific, including alopecia (hair loss), chemical burns, dandruff, graying hair and split ends.

Like “The Science of Black Hair,” Davis-Sivasothy’s new book is getting glowing reviews:

“First of all, this book covers topics of many different hair types,” writes Amazon reviewer Liz. “So not only did I find useful information for myself, but I found out helpful tips for my mom's straight and thin hair and my sister's curly, dry and frizzy hair.

“I found out all kinds of answers to questions I had about healthy vs. damaged hair, dandruff, and split ends … This book essentially answers any questions I could ever have about my hair and is an excellent collection of materials for me. It is composed in such an easy and helpful format that I will always keep this as a nearby guide.”
