Nurturingbirths.com provides gentle midwifery care and pointed out that its doula service provides a more positive and satisfying birth experience for mothers and birth partners.
Argyle, TX (PRWEB) November 21, 2012
In an effort to provide emotional and physical support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, a Texas-based midwife now offers doula in Dallas.
“The benefits include assistance creating and documenting a birth plan, support and encouragement for your birth partner, increased likelihood of an un-medicated vaginal birth, shorter labor time, healthier babies and easier breastfeeding,” said Abbie Spreier, a newly licensed midwife and certified professional midwife, and owner of Nurturingbirths.com.
Spreier explained that Nurturingbirths.com provides gentle midwifery care and pointed out that its doula service provides a more positive and satisfying birth experience for mothers and birth partners.
“My doula in Dallas service also provides you with an education to help you make a truly informed decision about prenatal, birth, and postpartum choices,” Spreier stressed.
She noted that Nurturing Births began as a doula services in January 2010.
Spreier noted that those choosing the doula service can expect a free, no obligation interview, two prenatal visits to discuss their birth plan, goals, expectations, and on-call availability, 24/7 from 36 weeks until birth.
“That means I’ll be available via phone, text, or email from the time I am hired,” Spreier said, before adding, “I’ll provide you with a vast lending library and other recommended resources, one postpartum and breastfeeding support visit, and I will keep track of and document key birthing events on a timeline.”
Spreier went on to point out that for those planning a hospital birth, “given my training as a midwife, I also provide monitrice services.”
A monitrice, she said, combines the emotional and physical support of a doula with clinical skills such as blood pressure, fetal heart tones, palpation of baby's position, and cervical exams (if desired).
“I will monitor the health of both mother and baby while laboring at home, providing reassurance of the safety of laboring at home,” Spreier said. “This allows you to arrive at the hospital once labor is well established, thus decreasing the risk of unnecessary intervention. After we arrive at the hospital, I step into the role of doula, and continue to provide continuous support throughout the birth and immediate postpartum, including assistance with breastfeeding.”
As for Spreier’s experience as a midwife, one client described her as one of the most caring people she has ever met.
“I am thankful for all the people God surrounded me during the birth of my daughter". “She was not only a great skilled midwife but also a marvelous person. She is so gentle and kind, easy to talk to, and a person you can count on. I felt completely safe and comforted having Abbie as part of the birth team. She was truly a blessing and I highly recommend her.”
