We bring over 3,000 different products that are 100% US made. That's over 300 privately owned businesses we bring to the table, making us the HQ for Small Business Saturday.
Elma, New York (PRWEB) November 21, 2012
This Saturday is Small Business Saturday in which consumers will make a conscious effort to visit the “Mom & Pop” shops in their town. Small Business Saturday helps the smaller, privately owned businesses that sometimes doesn’t get the attention the big box stores do. The Made In America Store is participating this year by giving every customer that stops at their Elma, New York, location a discount on their entire purchase!
Saturday, November 24th kicks off Small Business Saturday and everyone around the nation will be visiting small businesses on Main Street and other stores in their town. The Made In America Store is giving each customer that stops by a 10% discount on their entire purchase for the shopping "holiday".
Small Business Saturday started as a reaction to all the hype with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, where the big box stores advertise and promote their sales the day after Thanksgiving and following weekend. A lot of the time, the smaller businesses and Mom & Pop shops cannot compete with the big box store’s cost, resulting in the smaller stores being drown in the hype. This is because the bigger businesses can buy a larger volume of products and sell them at a lower cost, making it practical impossible to compete with.
Small businesses can capitalize on unique and homemade products that just can’t be manufactured at a volume for big box stores. These products are sometimes made by local vendors who have new and innovative ideas. Consumers can also find comfort in knowing their purchases at the small shops directly affect the business owners, not some shareholders.
"We bring over 3,000 different products that are 100% US made," said Dan Andol, Vice President of the Made In America Store. "That's over 300 privately owned businesses we bring to the table, making us the HQ for Small Business Saturday."
