The family operated business was founded in 1960 by Holocaust survivor Felix Goldberg, who immigrated to Columbia, South Carolina in 1950. Goldberg gained employment as a tile setter's helper. Through hard work, sacrifice, and dedication, Mr. Goldberg established The Tile and Carpet Center in 1960.
Today, Tile Center Inc. is still proudly owned and operated by the Goldberg family and employs those old world business traditions and values authored by Felix. His son Karl and son-in-law Ira are heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the Columbia and Florence, South Carolina locations.
