Biometric-recognition systems are increasingly crucial features for sports arenas, and our facial-recognition system’s outstanding processing speed makes it uniquely suited to highly crowded environments.

VIPs to a recent game between Flamengo and Botafogo passed through the latest in high-tech security turnstiles featuring real-time biometric facial recognition without ever noticing a thing. This system, installed by Slovakia’s ColosseoEAS, relies on the fastest facial-recognition mechanism ever created to securely process each turnstile entry in less than a half second. The match represented the first use of a facial-recognition security system at a Brazilian sports venue under live-game circumstances. The pilot project received valuable assistance from ColosseoEAS’s distribution partners Codesur from Argentina and Allen from Brazil.

“Some kind of biometric-recognition systems are increasingly crucial features for sports arenas, and our facial-recognition system’s outstanding processing speed makes it uniquely suited to highly crowded environments where quickly processing thousands of people is necessary to prevent delays in event attendance,” said ColosseoEAS’ Sales Director Jozef Dusenka. “Our solution allows for virtually instant recognition and identification of undesirable persons so security can manage access to the stadium easily and securely.” During the pilot program, ColosseoEAS placed certain VIPs onto a hypothetical “blacklist” to illustrate the system’s efficacy. Those VIPs were successfully denied access to the game.

ColosseoEAS has already installed a facial-recognition system in the Ondrej Nepela Hockey arena in Bratislava, Slovakia. During the 2011 IIHF World Championship, close to half a million people attended games over the course of the two week-long tournament. With the ColosseoEAS system at their disposal, security was able to catch thieves with copied or stolen tickets before they gained access to the arena by their use.
