Bright Lights Business released a list of top shopping districts in New York following an industry survey from that saw store owners, publicists and bloggers all weigh in on the best improvements in 2012

BLB issued their list of top shopping areas today prompted by's survey results that were made public earlier this month. The survey offers a glimpse into the opinions of those in the industry when it comes to the best improvements to New York shopping in 2012.

The most exciting developments and the biggest news stories of the fashion industry cannot be narrowed down to any one area, but some stand out more than others according to those in the industry. With a multitude of new shops opening in 2012 there are obvious divisions being made between areas, with some offering up more trendy shops while others are geared towards higher end shops.

Bright Lights Business is excited to see the continued growth of this industry, an industry that helps draws millions of visitors, including many A-list celebrities, to New York every year and helps cement the city as a place to live for the millions of people that permanently reside in the Big Apple. Areas such as the Meatpacking District, Williamsburg and Uptown continue to be top shopping destinations but additions to some of the areas, such as Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg and Madison Avenue in the Upper East Side have made their way on to the radars of those in the business.

The Meatpacking District is one of the hottest areas in NYC, offering up exciting nightlife and restaurants in addition to unparalleled shopping options. New York is known for it's nightlife, restaurants and shopping and based on a survey of those in the fashion industry there have been remarkable changes to some areas best known for shopping in 2012, continuing to secure areas such as the Meatpacking District, Williamsburg and Uptown as some of the best areas to shop. Regardless of whether an area is trendy or high-end, industry professionals have recognized the work that has gone in to keeping fashion with in the grasp of New Yorkers in 2012.
