First “Mobile API Components” Launched with Feeds from The Sports Network, Weather Decision Technologies and CityGrid Media

Verious, Inc., the leader in connecting publishers and developers with mission-critical components and services for mobile app development, today announced the launch of the Verious Mobile App Services™ platform. This revolutionary platform combines rich mobile-ready software modules with application programming interfaces (APIs) from industry-leading partners to deliver high-value data, content and services directly into mobile applications. The first “mobile API components” launched on the platform have been purpose-built to connect to APIs from industry leaders CityGrid Media, The Sports Network and Weather Decision Technologies (see related press releases all dated March 6, 2012).

“From day one, our mission has been to enable ROI from the mobile app economy to eclipse that of the World Wide Web,” said Anil Pereira, Founder and CEO of Verious. “Our Mobile App Services platform represents a big step in that direction, connecting rich software modules with leading Web Services APIs, allowing app publishers to save development time and costs and deliver user experiences which were previously unavailable in the mobile app space.”
The new mobile app software modules for sports, weather, local listings and branded store locators make it easy for large publishers and independent developers to integrate valuable, real-time, hyper-local data and content into their apps. User engagement and loyalty dramatically increases through an integrated, ‘in-app’ experience and localized targeting drives significantly higher than average CPMs for publishers to monetize their audience through paid subscriptions, increased mobile page views, targeted leads and digital coupons.

  •     Local Search —developed on CityGrid’s APIs (see related release, “Verious Introduces Rich Mobile App Components for Branded Store Locators…”, dated March 6, 2012);
  •     Branded Store Locators—also developed on CityGrid’s APIs;
  •     Sports News for MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, college basketball, college football, PGA Golf, soccer (English Premier League), NASCAR Racing and the 2012 Olympic Games—developed in conjunction with The Sports Network (see related release, “The Sports Network and Verious Launch World’s First Rich Mobile App Components for Sports Feeds”, dated March 6, 2012); and
  •     Weather Conditions and Forecasts—developed in conjunction with Weather Decision Technologies (see related release, “Weather Decision Technologies Partners with Verious to Launch…”, dated March 6, 2012).

All of these mobile API components leverage Verious’ patent-pending license management infrastructure, allowing them to be offered as “free trials” or licensed on an annual or lifetime basis. The new components are available on and across the Verious™ Mobile Developer Network—also announced today—with reach to over 1 million mobile developers and growing. The components add to the thousands of other mobile app components, mobile SDKs, mobile contractors and designers listed in the Verious network.
