MetroShip, the US based worldwide leader in modern houseboats launches the 42 foot (42ft) MetroShip GlassHouseboat with 360 degree views and open New York loft style floorplan.

MetroShip, a GDM Limited brand of US built houseboats designed by British born design guru David Ballinger, launches a revolutionary modern GlassHouseboat with 360 degree views and modern contemporary open plan interior.

The 42ft MetroShip GlassHouseboat pays homage to architect genius Phillip Johnson's New Canaan, Connecticut Glass House guest suite structure that features glass around the entire structure and an enclosed bathroom area off center in the open plan interior space.

Designed by David Ballinger, famous for the MetroShed and MetroShip Neiman Marcus 50th Anniversary His & Hers Gift Edition, the 42ft MetroShip GlassHouseboat joins a growing family of American made boat products by Ballinger's MetroShip modern house boat brand. The 42ft modern houseboat features a New York loft style open floor plan with unusually high ceilings for a houseboat giving it the feel of a much larger space. Set up to be more like a floating W Hotel suite - the modern interior is also unusually contemporary for the typical houseboats. Ballinger stated 'We want to get as far away from the 'RV of the Sea' as we can. The 42ft MetroShip GlassHouseboat is a design study in small space efficiencies and year round living on the water. The glass is all double-glazed with ultra efficient LG minisplit heat / AC units onboard. Flatscreen TV's, a full workable kitchen island, oversized contemporary bathroom and even a walk in closet was given to the GlassHouseboat as a result of customer feedback. The views aren't bad either!'

The first 42ft GlassHouseboat has already been delivered to Washington, DC where it is attracting a lot of attention as the next generation of houseboat. With the average cost of a typical American Made Houseboat being over $400,000 - the 42ft MetroShip GlassHouseboat starts at around $100,000 depending on engines / options. At a quarter of the price the GlassHouseboat is truly a revolutionary floating home ready for year round water living and a cost effective alternative to land living (especially in major cities where housing costs continue to be high).

GDM Limited, owner of MetroShip, is a U.S. based design company that designs and manufacturers prefabricated modern structures (MetroShed and MetroCabin), boats (MetroShip), motorbikes (MetroMotorbike) and furniture (MetroSofa).
