Winter Park, FL (PRWEB) May 31, 2012
Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. is excited to announce its involvement in completing Zero Energy America’s first zero energy home. The initiative is led by Marc Rutenberg of Marc Rutenberg Homes and Alfonso Castaneira, senior executive producer of Zero Energy America. The project was created to build extreme green homes focused on energy consumption, health and environmental stewardship. Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. has worked with Marc Rutenberg Homes since 2002 and is a sponsor of this endeavor. The model home, located in Palm Harbor, Fla., is 4,552 square feet and is expected to be completed by August 2012. The homes built by Zero Energy America will have no impact on the planet or carbon foot print and will generate no electric bills for their residents.
The style of the home is modern organic with an air of casual elegance. Designers Kim Grimes and Lauren Saunders are creating designs for the home with recycled, reclaimed and other sustainable materials. Accessories are selected from a variety of vendors, including Altogether Home, a partner company of Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. Concerning Marc Rutenberg’s choice of Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. for this project, Grimes said, “We’ve worked with Marc before and he appreciates our design aesthetic. He recognizes that we are on the cutting edge of style.”
Further information about the Zero Energy America project is presented in the PBS documentary Zero Energy America. The film follows the construction of the homes including the obstacles involved in building in an unorthodox way with unconventional materials. Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. is thrilled to be involved in a project that represents the future of the design industry.
