With more than four decades of experience working with trees, author Donald Wayne Francis, certified arborist, offers to readers suggestions to help save them money and stress when dealing with landscaping trees in his new book “Tree Care: That Really Works” (published by AuthorHouse).

“Customers in the daily activity of my work would invariably ask me if they could get from me a summary of all the things that I told them about their trees,” Francis says. “They would often ask if I had a book.” Given that frequent interest, Francis decided to pen “Tree Care.”

An excerpt from “Tree Care”:

“I got a call from a customer asking me to look at a tree he planted which had died. It was July and he had just dug it out of the woods to be transplanted. Upon finding this out, I simply told him that a tree which is deciduous will die 99% of the time if moved between June and September. No one knows exactly why, it is nature at work. I think it is because the tree loses 80% of its roots when transplanted and it is in shock during the hot weather.”

Francis suggests his book is unlike any other. Because of his experience and education, he has crafted a book he describes as “… a down-to-Earth synopsis of tree care information with pictures that are in easy-to-read condensed form.
