Insigniam, a leading international management consulting firm, has released an executive sentiment survey that reveals insights from over 250 executives from Global 1000 companies on their biggest frustrations, their critical focuses for success and the importance of innovation in their organizations.
The survey asked executives to share insights across four dimensions critical to organizational transformation and lasting change: elevating performance, accountability, employee engagement and innovation. The biggest concerns from polled executives were focused on issues around people in the enterprise.
57% of executives globally, and 74% in the United States, believe operational excellence is their biggest factor for success. 38% of executives are worried about people and their performance. 76% of executives believe innovation is very important to their success, and 75% of executives who rated innovation as very important define innovation as offerings (products or services) or process (internal procedures or practices). 42% of senior executives answered that complacency, cynicism and culture was their chief frustration.
“Executives are clearly worried about teamwork, leadership impact in driving innovation efforts and productivity,” says Shideh Sedgh Bina, one of Insigniam’s founding partners. “They are frustrated with employees who are complacent, employees who are cynical and employees who have issues with the culture of the organization.”
