A new cover album from the British 1970s glam rock band 'The Sweet' seems to be helping the band reach a new generation of fans. The new album 'New York Connection' may only feature one member of classic line up of Connolly-Priest-Scott-Tucker but thanks to some positive reviews looks like it is bringing the band back into the spotlight once again. The fitness blogsite recently picked up on some of these positive reviews, stating that the album is a perfect soundtrack for working out. The fitness website picked up on Patrick Prince's review from which reportedly said that "The Sweet‘s New York Connection may be the best full-length album of covers in a long time."

"New York Connection" is the new album of covers from the 1970s glam rock survivors The Sweet and it's apparent recent success looks like it is helping the band gain a whole new generation of fitness oriented fans. The fitness lifestyle website recently ran a feature highlighting that The Sweet's glam rock style is a great soundtrack for working out.

The article on the fitness site reported that the only member from the original line up who features on the new album is guitarist and vocalist Andy Scott. It's a far cry from the classic Connolly-Priest-Scott-Tucker line up that gave us such glam rock classics as 'Blockbuster' and 'Ballroom Blitz' back in the early 1970s.

The article further added that reviews of the album have been positive, with the classic rock / heavy metal magazine Powerline reportedly stating that "The Sweet‘s New York Connection may be the best full-length album of covers in a long time." It appears that even though not many ballrooms are being blitzed with The Sweet's music plenty of gyms are. The album will be available for pre-order on June 12 on iTunes.
