The Dot Net Factory LLC, developers of the EmpowerID Identity Management, Cloud Security, and Secure Workflow software suite, announced today that it has won a competitively bid project for one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest healthcare portals. The project scope includes enabling Single Sign-On technology for over 150,000 users that will connect to the portal via SAML, WS-Trust, WS-Federation and OAuth-based technology offered in EmpowerID, an Identity Management (IdM) platform being used in a hosted configuration to provide Identity as a Service (IDaaS).

With a single login to the portal, users from thousands of organizations will be automatically authenticated to 23 insurance partners who are securely federated to the EmpowerID-driven portal using a variety of SAML connections, including those offered by IBM, CA, Ping Identity, Microsoft and others. The portal will be a Cloud-based application built entirely from workflows created and running on the EmpowerID platform.

"We are excited to leverage the unique architecture of our EmpowerID Business Process Automation (BPA) platform to build the most powerful adaptible federation solution available. All Single Sign-On transactions pass through a unique set of EmpowerID “login” workflows where an organization’s authentication rules can be applied, multiple strong authentication methods chained together, and identity attributes aggregated from connected directories,” said Patrick Parker, CEO of The Dot Net Factory.

SAML, WS-Federation, WS-Trust, and OAuth SSO capabilities built into EmpowerID’s platform will be used by the health portal to drive hundreds of thousands of identities and millions of transactions for this high volume Cloud-based solution. The healthcare client has noted the extreme ease-of-use they have experienced in setting up federation trust relationships with dozens of different platforms.

EmpowerID is an entirely workflow-based platform built on a single codebase offering federated SSO as a licensed module as a component of the EmpowerID suite. EmpowerID ships with 370+ ready-to-use workflows covering everything from user provisioning to SAML-based SSO.
EmpowerID continues to lead the rapidly evolving Identity market with its broad versatility as both a workflow-based development platform and as a robust IdM solution. It can drive a very broad range of Cloud IdM tasks while also providing the core logic for robust new business applications.

"Clients building Cloud-based computing platforms need reliable, fast Identity Management that can centralize all key tasks related to managing and authenticating identities. EmpowerID has the ability to deliver in the largest of commercial spaces and meets the needs that ‘legacy’ IdM platforms have difficulty solving,” said Parker.

The Dot Net Factory's EmpowerID platform is deployed and proven worldwide in many of the world's leading healthcare, energy, banking, software development, manufacturing, regulatory, governmental and service organizations.
