HealthCompare Continues To Inform Today's Health Insurance Consumer By Announcing A New Goal In Education Media

Share Article

HealthCompare, a health insurance comparison site, aims to educate and connect with consumers through efforts to continue to inform shoppers on the hardships surrounding health insurance.

HealthCompare is insurance education at its best

Understanding how ebooks and ereaders have changed the way shoppers reads, they will be releasing books that cover topics from college survival to living a happier life.

HealthCompare is a health insurance comparison site that is nationally recognized for their compassion for consumers. They garnered this recognition because they have consistently demonstrated genuine caring and understanding of health care policy shoppers.

This reputation for education began as questions they encouraged their site visitors to ask themselves caused the shopper to delve deep into their needs before continuing to shop for policies. The questions they were prompted to ask themselves were:

What are the consumers current health care needs? Do they currently require medication? Does the consumer have a pre-existing condition? Or are they seeking to start a family in the near future?

Does the financial state of the shopper allow for a lower deductible, thusly giving them a higher monthly premium? Or would having a high deductible (and therefore lower monthly premium) be more beneficial?

Is the consumer’s physician a factor? If they prefer to continue seeing their doctor of choice, HealthCompare helps them decide what policies allow that.

Are there any other health insurance options for the shopper, such as spouse or parent plan?

Once consumers get their quotes, HealthCompare then helps them narrow their decisions by prompting them to ask further questions, like:

How much will the policies being compared cost them from their pocket when considering deductibles, co-insurance, and co-pays?

What will the policies being compared offer in terms of maximum out-of-pocket expense?

Will the consumer’s office visits be covered?

Do any of the policies up for comparison offer maternity?

Is prescription drug coverage an option?

How much will the consumer pay for emergency services and ambulances?

Will the current primary physician and local hospitals be accepted under any of the policies being considered?

Health insurance costs are much more involved than mere premiums and buyers must carefully consider all out of pocket expenses to understand what their policies will ultimately cost them.

But, HealthCompare’s compassion didn’t stop there. They, then, developed series of infographics to help explain the difficulty surrounding the health insurance field.

Infographics are web graphics that take complex topics that are filled with jargon and data and reduce them to their essence and display them in beautifully pleasing layouts full of images and colors. They compress the information with distilling it, yet making it easier to understand. By leaving out the industry language, the everyday reader can understand the idea that is being conveyed by the report that the infographic represents.

Infographics that HealthCompare released are:

Is There Really Affordable Medical Coverage Available - Designed to help consumers find their most affordable options

Family Health Insurance Needs - Designed to help shoppers find health insurance for their families

Are Health Insurance Brokers Necessary - Created to assist consumers in deciding whether or not they need a health insurance broker

COBRA Isn’t The Only Health Insurance For Unemployed - Designed to educate the unemployed on their health insurance choices

Other infographics can be found here.

HealthCompare, not interested in stopping there, has now released a new media plan.

In July, they will be releasing ebooks to help reach consumers in a new way. Understanding how ebooks and ereaders have changed the way shoppers reads, they will be releasing books that cover topics from college survival to living a happier life.

As an insurance comparison site, their goal is to connect with consumers and to help them develop an understanding of their health care needs and how they can best fill those needs. That’s why HealthCompare has made it their mission to educate today’s health insurance consumers on the hardships involving the health care industry.
