After years of working in the fitness industry, Joschi Schwarz has decided to focus on this project as a way of bringing his knowledge and experience to serve a community that he feels could benefit from yoga.

Naked Flow Yoga for Men

Some of us live with our body the entire life without truly seeing it. Naked Yoga brings a greater level of awareness and sense of freedom, inspiring a more mindful and connected practice." says Schwarz.

As the first and only yoga studio of its kind in the city, Le Male Yoga opens in Chelsea on July 10, providing a space for gay, bi and straight men who are passionate about a healthy lifestyle and a special mind-body connection. The boutique studio is truly a yoga playground for men, offering Vinyasa Flow classes in beginner to advanced formats, heated Le Male Yoga, Power Yoga Fusion, Naked Yoga as well as athletic Workout Programs for Men. The studio will also offer Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Programs on the 200 hour level for Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow directed by Joschi Schwarz & Monika Werner.

As French philosopher, Michel de Montaigne, noted, man is the sole animal whose nudity offends his own companions, and covering the body is one way in which we hide ourselves and our stories from the world.
Practicing yoga in the nude helps students work with self-esteem, self-image and self-confidence. Joschi Schwarz – Owner of NYC’s Le Male Yoga – is responding to the growing demand from his students and is teaching Naked Flow Yoga for Men at his studio in Chelsea. ‘Naked Yoga is not sexual in any sense, but grounded in the hatha-vinyasa yoga philosophy to encourage openness and acceptance of feelings.’ says Schwarz. ‘Some of us live with our body the entire life without truly seeing it. Naked Yoga brings a greater level of awareness and sense of freedom, inspiring a more mindful and connected practice.’ As the clothes come off, students strip off layers of protection and masked identity to meet on a level of equality that encourages a sense of community and acceptance for self and other.

To celebrate the upcoming launch, the studio is offering first-time students unlimited classes for one month for $99 when purchased online by September 03, 2012. The studio also supports a number of LGBT organizations through donation based Karma Classes.

You are invited to join Joschi Schwarz and Monika Werner to celebrate the inception of Le Male Yoga at the Opening Party on July 10, 2012 at 7:30pm.
