Bridgeside enjoys one of the region’s prime locations, with sweeping views of downtown Charleston and access to its historic harbor. Development can commence on the 45-acre property, which is poised to bring numerous benefits to the region.

A high-profile, harbor front property has been green-lighted for development in greater Charleston, SC, creating a multi-use community that will become a focal point for the region.

Located at the foot of the iconic Ravenel Bridge, and minutes from downtown Charleston, Bridgeside has sailed to unanimous approval by the town’s staff, planning committees and elected officials in the town of Mount Pleasant, where the property is located.

“We are pleased to announce that Bridgeside, a forward-thinking development set in one of the nation’s most attractive industry and visitor destinations, is officially open for business,” said Mike Langella, president of Frontdoor Communities, the site’s developer. “Interest has been tremendous already from many parties who want to take this project vertical.”

Bridgeside enjoys one of the region’s prime locations, with sweeping views of downtown Charleston and access to its historic harbor. Development can commence on the 45-acre property, which is poised to bring numerous benefits to the region. Marketed by Colliers International, Bridgeside is approved for:

•Up to 573 units of multi-family housing in high-quality apartments. Experts note the Charleston region presently has a high need for new, multi-family construction.
•330,000 square feet of office space, including sites for Class A and satellite office sites. On the heels of the Boeing Company’s move to Charleston, the region currently reports Class A inventory at the lowest level in a decade.
•450 hotel rooms with easy access to downtown Charleston, area beaches, Patriots Point Naval Museum and other public amenities.
•60,000 square feet of retail/commercial uses.

Bridgeside is owned by the Philadelphia-based private equity firm, Lubert Adler, which has numerous holdings in the area. Atlanta-based Frontdoor Communities is developing the project for Lubert Adler. Parties interested in learning more about development opportunities should contact Peter Fennelly at 843-720-7500 or peter(dot)fennelly(at)colliers(dot)com.

The development enjoys a prime location, between the Patriots Point Naval Museum and the town’s Waterfront Park. In 2010, Money magazine named Mount Pleasant one of the best small cities in the U.S. The property is just minutes away from historic downtown Charleston, named #1 destination in the country by readers of Condé Nast Traveler (2012). Finally, Bridgeside is located just 15 minutes from the Charleston International Airport and the Boeing South Carolina production facility.
