Mt. Zion, IL (PRWEB) June 28, 2012
Hagerman & Company, a 28-year reseller of Autodesk 3D design software was recently awarded a bid from the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) for Autodesk software training.
The CTA operates the nation’s second largest public transportation system moving 1.6 million riders on an average weekday through forty suburbs and the city of Chicago. The metropolitan rail service provides 83 percent of the public transit trips in the six-county Chicago area with either direct service or connecting service to Metra and Pace.
Hagerman & Company began working with CTA in the spring of 2010, providing training on the 2010 release of Autodesk AEC software including: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Advanced, AutoCAD Administrator, AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD MEP (Electrical, Mechanical & Tube/Pipe) and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Hagerman & Company account manager Melanee Kretschmar sat down with Tad Whitchurch, director of training and consulting services to discuss course needs, days required per course and the content of the course. The two of them worked together to determine the best program for the project with regards to providing the best trained instructors and AutoCAD certified courseware.
“The representatives from CTA leaned on us to develop the best training program for their needs,” said Whitchurch. “Our team invested the time to fully understand their needs and determine the best program for the CTA employees and the company’s future goals with the software. The relationship that Melanee built with Matt Gibbs and Abhay Shah provided CTA the confidence to partner with Hagerman & Company on this project.”
The plan came together to provide the following coursework over a twelve-week period:
- 5 AutoCAD New User classes
- 5 AutoCAD Advanced classes
- 1 CAD Managers class
- 2 AutoCAD Architecture New User classes
- 3 AutoCAD MEP Electrical classes
- 3 AutoCAD MEP Mechanical classes
- 3 AutoCAD MEP Piping classes
- 1 AutoCAD Civil 3D Class
Robert Levy, Solutions Engineer for Hagerman & Company conducted the majority of the classroom instruction with support from Whitchurch, Mark Lautenbach, another Hagerman SE in the Chicago area, and Scott Hacker, an expert in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
“Certified Autodesk trainers and certified courseware were the keys to bringing the technical staff from CTA together with the experts from Hagerman & Company,” said Kretschmar. “Another important benefit was the convenient location of our Authorized Training Center in downtown Chicago.”
When calculating costs for the project, Kretschmar and Whitchurch were able to incorporate some valuable Hagerman & Company training coupons. Lower costs, certified software and trainers and a conveniently located learning facility combined to ensure Hagerman & Company the winning bid.
“It doesn’t surprise me at all that we won this bid because we met all the criteria at the lowest price,” said Whitchurch. “The CTA students ranged from absolute beginners to technicians who have been using AutoCAD for years - but we knew that going in. We were able to provide the training that helps Autodesk software users perform at a higher level.”
