Culture-seekers and wine and culinary enthusiasts will enjoy a private performance by celebrated American virtuoso violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn performing in partnership with the world famous Red Violin. She performs at Four Seasons Resort Maui on December 7 as one of the Resort’s Unforgettable Events and during the First Annual Wailea Wine & Food Festival, December 6-9, 2012.

The resort will present Pitcairn in a special evening, playing the legendary 1720 "Red Mendelssohn" Stradivarius which was purchased by her grandfather at auction in 1990. The purchase is said to have inspired the 1999 Academy Award winning film, "The Red Violin." The instrument is known for its mysterious past, having vanished at one point for more than 200 years, as well as for its physical beauty and its magical tones.

This one-of-a-kind evening of classical music performance will be paired with an equally stellar dinner menu designed and prepared by the Resort’s Master Executive Chef Roger Stettler.

The Wailea Wine & Food Festival is the newest signature event presented by Wailea's top resorts. This impressive culinary and wine experience will feature the various resort chefs and their award-winning cuisine. Maui's rich bounty of ranch, ocean and farm fresh products will be showcased. Participants will take part in tastings of exceptional wines as well as participate in culinary and wine encounters led by world-renowned master sommeliers.
