Like many courts, the Hoover, Alabama Municipal Court had been struggling for years to keep up with increased caseloads while relying on antiquated technology and outdated processing systems. As a leader among Alabama Municipal Courts, Hoover recognized the need for updated technology that would expand services to the public, integrate with outside vendors, and unify the many departments within the court itself. After evaluating numerous court systems, Hoover Court Administrator Susan Fuqua and her staff selected the Benchmark case management system from Pioneer Technology Group (PTG).

"I truly cannot find the words to express how much I appreciate the partnership between the Hoover Municipal Court, and Pioneer. Our first court session was a true testament of everyone working together towards a positive goal. Today we made history in Municipal Courts!" said Susan Fuqua, Hoover Municipal Court Director.

"We were honored to be selected by the City of Hoover" said Steve Rumsey, President of PTG. "As President of the Alabama Municipal Court Clerks and Magistrates Association, Susan Fuqua has a tremendous knowledge and appreciation for every aspect of the Municipal Court system. Our selection confirms that we're listening and responding to the needs of our customers, and we'll continue to develop systems that deliver increased productivity for courts and improved services for the public".

One important consideration in the selection was PTG's unique ability to scan more than ten years of historical paper case files. These back files are now seamlessly integrated with the new paperless process, providing immediate efficiencies for the court staff. The system also interfaces with third parties such as Judicial Corrections Services (JCS). Other improved services include the ability for attorneys to securely view case files online, and both kiosk and online traffic payment processing for the public.

"We're being very well received in Alabama, with two Municipal Courts in the state now going live on the Benchmark system in the past ninety days. We're grateful for these opportunities and we look forward to serving other Muncipal Courts in Alabama in the months and years ahead" said Mr. Rumsey.
