Lifespire’s largest fundraising event, the 12th Annual Golf Classic, will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012, at the Garden City Country Club. This year’s honoree will be Major League Baseball’s Willie Randolph, former second baseman and manager, and most recently the third base coach for the Baltimore Orioles. In addition, Lifespire will be joined by famous golf entertainer, Dan Boever, known for his multiple drives of 400 plus yards, witticism, and ability to engage a large audience.
“Last year we had over 100 golfers join us at our annual event,” said Elia Cintron, Executive Office Administrator and Coordinator of the Annual Golf Classic. “We were able to raise over $240,000 toward our mission, and we hope to have an even larger turnout and success this year.”
Dedicated to providing individuals with developmental disabilities the support and assistance necessary to succeed, Lifespire anticipates another successful outing in August. Proceeds from this event cover costs that are not otherwise funded by New York State, such as consumer vacations, emergency clothing expenses, materials for programs, etc.
