We’ve done our research on what we think people are looking for in a great remodeling app.

RemodelingCentral.com is in development for a new remodeling app, but developers don’t want to release the tool just yet. Instead, an open call has been made for homeowners, remodeling companies and contractors to send in suggestions for what they want to see in a remodeling app. The recently updated remodeling help site has provided a ton of information and tools to visitors, including a contractor search and project how-to articles. Now, the remodeling app will add a new facet to what homeowners and remodeling contractors can do with basic tools and materials, and according to Paul Drago, hopefully something extra as well.
“We’ve done our research on what we think people are looking for in a great remodeling app. There are so many out there, some that you even have to pay for, but which ones actually provide a quality tool for their users? We want to know what is something else that homeowners and contractors want to see,” said Drago, VP of Search behind RemodelingCentral.com, one of the leading resources on the web for remodeling information.
The new app currently in development will be a free to use app available for iPhone and Android devices. With customized features, material selection tools and other colorful ideas in the works, Drago said that it’s important to get the remodeling community’s feedback so that the tool can have some real use for whatever home improvement project someone is working on.
“Mostly you see apps for picking colors, materials and furniture. There’s some apps for virtual design, but they may not be free. We want to give our users all of these options and more,” said Drago. “But we certainly don’t want them to have to pay for something that they can also get on our website for free.”
RemodelingCentral.com is constantly working towards helping its community. The site recently added some new features, such as a contractor and services finder, but the remodeling leader is full of other resources, such as a gallery, daily updated blog and tons of how-to articles. The blog also has some dedicated and experienced designers who answer questions for readers and also provide some significant tips for today’s current remodeling trends.
“It’s difficult to bring all of your ideas together in one application, so who knows, maybe there will be more than one. If we can get some personal insights into what people are looking for, then there’s certainly room to develop even more for RemodelingCentral.com,” said Drago.
RemodelingCentral.com is a top resource for homeowners and contractors alike who want the latest on home improvement projects and industry news. With hundreds of articles, the site provides details on bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, outdoor projects, repair and household fixes, remodeling market news and tons of other home improvement topics.
