Attorneys who get clients from the Internet need to quickly get updated on the new ABA advertising rules.
Birmingham, Alabama (PRWEB) September 09, 2012
The ABA recently adopted changes to the ethics rules that apply to lawyers who use the Internet, online lead generation services, and social media to get clients. Veteran online legal marketing attorney and consultant Michael J. Evans has just concluded a 3-part series of articles analyzing the new changes so that lawyers are aware of the potential ethical pitfalls. The articles are posted on Evans' attorney marketing online website.
"Attorneys who get clients from the Internet need to quickly get updated on the new ABA advertising rules," Evans said. "There are several rule changes, and the ABA addressed the issue of lawyers buying leads from lead-generation firms or non-lawyers by adding 62 words of guidance to an advertising rule comment."
