Families save an additional 15 percent off low fall rates and enjoy access to nature activities.

Fall school break is the perfect time for families to escape to South Walton and Destin beaches

"We wanted to keep learning at the forefront while families enjoy a fun fall beach getaway," said Jeanne Dailey, owner of Newman-Dailey Resort Properties.

Newman-Dailey Resort Properties launches its "Fall Into Family Fun" package for families looking for a quick getaway during the fall school break. The package, which is 15 percent off already reduced fall rates, is focused on educational nature experiences and includes complimentary access to Topsail Hill State Preserve, a portrait with an alligator at a Gator Beach Show outside Fudpucker's Destin and discounts toward several area dolphin cruises.

"Families are accustomed to planning a spring break getaway. Since many schools are now adding a fall break, we wanted to keep learning at the forefront while families enjoy a fun fall beach getaway," said Jeanne Dailey, owner of Newman-Dailey Resort Properties.

Topsail Hill State Preserve is one of the most pristine state parks in the sate and offers a wide variety of natural resources including 3.2 miles of secluded, white sand beaches with majestic dunes over 25 feet tall and 3 rare coastal dune lakes. Regular ranger programs take families on tours of the park, and feature a variety of topics from endangered sea turtles to shore birds. For families who enjoy the hunt of geocaching, there are several geocache treasures hidden along Topsail trails.

In Destin, Gator Beach at Fudpucker's invites families to experience up-close encounters with live alligators and learn all about this native species. Gator Beach is home to 100 live alligators, including a rare yellow alligator, appropriately named "Mellow Yellow." Guests who participate in the Newman-Dailey promotion will receive a special portrait with a live alligator.

Dolphin Cruises are another popular way to learn about the marine life that lives in South Walton and Destin waterways, including the Choctawhatchee Bay and Gulf of Mexico. Newman-Dailey has partnerships with the Southern Star, SunQuest Cruises SunVenture and Sunrise Charter's Captain Nemo, which provide guests a wide selection of cruise tour times and locations. The narrated tours provide families a fun, educational experience while bringing them up-close and personal with sea life such as dolphins, sting rays, sea turtles and a wide variety of fish species.

The fall season is complemented with nature-themed events, including Trail Day with guided hikes at the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center (Oct. 6), the 11th Annual Back to Nature Festival (Oct. 18-21), and Adventure Run at Topsail Hill State Preserve (Oct. 20-21).

Newman-Dailey offers a wide range of vacation rentals. Rates for the "Fall Into Family Fun" package start at $127/night for a 2-bedroom unit in Destin. The promotion is good for stays through Nov. 3, 2012. Use promo code: SCHOOL15. For more information or to book this package, call 1-800-225-7652 or visit
