Jeanne Ettelson, president of Beyond OCD, announced that Dr. Erica Wagner-Heimann will speak at the next OCD Live Forum on October 9, 2012 in Chicago at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Beyond OCD presents psychologist Erica Wagner-Heimann at its OCD Awareness Week Live Forum on October 9, 2012. Dr. Wagner-Heimann’s presentation, titled “Taking ACTion on OCD,” will provide an introduction to a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT has been found useful in conjunction with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is the gold standard treatment for OCD. This presentation will focus on key treatment components and provide knowledge of how it may benefit OCD sufferers to take ACTion on their OCD.

Dr. Erica Wagner-Heimann is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Co-Director of Doctoral Practicum Training at the Anxiety & Agoraphobia Treatment Center. Dr. Wagner has expertise in working with children, adolescents and adults with anxiety and other related disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, specific phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, major depression, health related anxiety, and trichotillomania (hair pulling)/chronic skin picking. She completed specialized training from leading experts in the field of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Trichotillomania/Chronic Skin Picking. Dr. Wagner provides Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and other empirically supported, effective treatment to help patients face and overcome anxiety, mood, and behavioral difficulties that have taken away from their lives.
