City bike developer Linus Bike responds to an article on on a bicycle safety program at Cedar Lane Elementary School that teaches children about the dangers of the road.

On February 11, 2013 city bike developer Linus Bike reacts to an article published on appeal on a bicycle safety program at Cedar Lane Elementary School in Olivehurst, C.A. that teaches children about the dangers of the road.

According to Appeal Democrat, Harmony Health Family Resource Center and AmeriCorps created the “bike rodeo” for youngsters to exercise basic safety measures they may not do at home. In the article, 145 children learned about “bike lanes, street signs, crosswalks, signals as well as other real-world situations.” In addition, children received free helmets and had them fitted properly.

In the article, Rachel Farrell, Harmony Health Family Resource Center executive director, commented on the obstacle course and stated, “We don't think health just has to do with medicine.” Farrell added, “It has to do with: a social safety net, economic development, street safety design, making sure that people have safe neighborhoods and that we're all taking care of each other.”

Jason Latty, Linus Bike Sales Representative, comments on the program as innovative and inspirational and says, “Bicycle safety education begins when we’re young and the first step is wearing a helmet every time you go for a bike ride,” Latty adds, “We encourage everyone to wear a helmet and practice other safe bike riding measures to avoid hazards on the road.” Linus Bike, an environmental friendly city bike manufacturer, commends any measures taken to improve cyclist safety. Whether the measures include revamping infrastructure or teaching beneficial cycling safety tips, promoting cycling and cycling education is extremely advantageous to our health and the environment.
