I'm a foodie and used to find it frustrating to have limited food delivery choices in my office.

Charlotte’s largest multi-restaurant delivery service, Foodie Call, Inc., concluded its third year of business with an increase of more than 80% in year-over-year sales this month. Offering delivery from nearly 100 fast casual and full-service restaurant partners, Foodie Call’s service area has grown from around uptown to an area 20 times larger. The company now delivers convenience to food craving Charlotteans and area workers around the 485 Loop and as far North as parts of Lake Norman, with plans to expand further north this year.

The idea of Foodie Call was once a subliminal idea before it became what it has today. “I'm a foodie and used to find it frustrating to have limited food delivery choices in my office where food was brought in fairly regularly,” said Anu Mehra, CEO of Foodie Call. “While I appreciated the free food from the company, it was always the same three to four restaurants and they were not very good. What made it worse was the Administrative Assistant had to personally pick the food up for half of these restaurants which was a lot of extra time and effort for her. I thought it would be much more enjoyable if our company had the option to bring great food in. This small personal irritation for me found its way into my subconscious and when the time came for me to part ways with my last company, Foodie Call was born.”

Through the years, Foodie Call has renovated Charlotte’s takeout and delivery by presenting customers their favorite restaurants’ menus to browse and order online, as well as track their orders. Foodie Call customers can have their favorite meals for dinner without the hassle of boulevard traffic, finding a parking spot, waiting for a table, or locating a menu. Customers can request delivery as soon as possible or order in advance.

Foodie Call provides restaurant partners means to reach new customers by displaying their menus online, as well as being showcased as one of five monthly website highlights and also in a semi-annual menu guide. By adding delivery service, restaurant partners can reach a broader base of customers while continuing business as usual.

Beyond Charlotte residents and workers, Foodie Call is now entering its fourth year by partnering with local hotels to offer visitors who wish to remain in their rooms or are unfamiliar with the area of a large variety of Charlotte’s best cuisine in the convenience of their hotel room.

The ease and convenience of their system has greatly helped Foodie Call in its exponential growth through the years. Customers may order by phone or online at All customers have to do is enter a zip code and time of delivery before being directed to a list of restaurants. Before ordering, customers may also view profiles of five showcased meals for the month, see what new restaurant partners have been added or read their blog, “The Dish,” to find out what the latest scoop is.
