While the cause of this tragic accident in Springfield is still under investigation, in general rollover accidents might occur due to a tire blowout or if the driver makes a sudden quick turn
Springfield, MO (PRWEB) March 06, 2013
A recent roll-over became a Missouri car accident fatality, when a sedan carrying two occupants swerved on Interstate 44, at a Highway 65 exit ramp, according to news report by Springfield, Missouri news station KY3. Springfield, Missouri personal injury lawyers at Tolbert Beadle & Musgrave said rollover accidents are not uncommon, especially among SUVs, which have a higher center of gravity than smaller sedans.
“While the cause of this tragic accident in Springfield is still under investigation, in general rollover accidents might occur due to a tire blowout or if the driver makes a sudden quick turn,” Springfield MO car accident lawyer Terry A. Tolbert said today. “Sometimes the accident can be traced back to a defective tire or some kind of flaw in the design of the vehicle.”
According to the KY3 news report, police said the driver was westbound on the interstate on Feb. 5 and lost control of the vehicle on the exit ramp, causing the car to flip upside down and land on its roof. The driver was treated and released from a local hospital, while the passenger died in the accident, according to the article. The story explains that the driver may have been trying to avoid hitting a vehicle parked alongside the road. According to the news report, it is unknown whether alcohol played a part in this Missouri crash fatality.
Missouri accident attorney Tolbert said he and the attorneys at his firm have seen first-hand the devastating impact of serious car accident injuries. “Some auto accidents are caused by negligent or careless drivers, such as motorists who are texting while driving or openly disobeying the law by driving drunk or speeding,” Tolbert said. “Because of the complicated nature of many accidents involving injury, it’s important to speak to an experienced attorney who can help protect the rights of the injury victim.”
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Statistical Analysis Center shows that Missouri auto accident fatalities are, in fact, going down—with 786 in 2011 compared to 1,098 ten years earlier. The Center also reports that injuries from accidents decreased by 30% during that same decade-long time span.
