Teachers often receive no formal training on classroom and behavior management.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 06, 2013
Dr. Thomas Phelan, creator of the best-selling 1-2-3 Magic program, is holding a one day workshop based on 1-2-3 Magic for Teachers called 'Train the Trainers'. Train the Trainers helps teachers create a learning environment free of disruptive stop behaviors. The one day workshop is offered to Chicago-land teachers and administrators on March 16, 2013.
Teachers often receive no formal training in modifying unwanted student behaviors in the classroom. "One disruptive student can have an effect on the entire classroom or the entire year," said Dr. Phelan, "it is critical to create a calm, positive environment for learning."
'Train the Trainers' gives teachers tools they need to lead the classroom and interact with parents about their children. "It's something that kids 2 years old and up can all understand easily. It gives them the choice; let's them feel that they aren't entirely out of control. It takes most of the wind out of the sails in that age-old 'battle of the will's' because they are choosing their own outcome," stated K. Waters, a preschool teacher using the 1-2-3 Magic method in the classroom.
'Train the Trainers' is in Chicago twice in 2013 on March 16 and August 10. Registration is $445 and includes the 1-2-3 Magic for Teachers Presentation Package. ParentMagic offers reduced registration fee ($375) for those who register before March 8. The workshop closes with an optional question and answer time with Dr. Phelan. 'Train the Trainers' will be held at the Chicago O'Hare Hilton Garden Inn.
