Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) March 07, 2013
The Ceilings and Interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA) has awarded two projects that feature pinta acoustic products with high honors in its 2012 Construction Excellence Awards. Both entries were submitted in the boutique category, which represents unique interior projects less than 10,000 square feet (929 m2).
The Splash! Sculpture implemented in the Betty T. Ferguson Recreation Center Aquatic Facility in Miamai Gardens, Fla., used 972 pinta acoustic SONEX® Rondo Baffles and received the highest honor with the gold award. The cylindrical, individual baffles resemble pool noodles and were used in the sculpture to replicate the appearance of a splash of water on the ceiling. In addition to its unique design, the SONEX Rondo Baffles provide an acoustical solution in the indoor pool that reduced reverberation and echo.
The other project, featuring pinta acoustic’s BIOLINE® Organic Wood Ceiling Tiles and SQUARELINE® Metal Ceiling Tiles, received the bronze award. The products helped to resolve acoustical issues within Blue Smoke’s second restaurant in Battery City, N.Y. The tiles not only provided acoustical control, but simultaneously created a natural-meets-industrial décor. Blue Smoke’s ceiling features an open area surrounded by pinta acoustic’s products. The ceiling construction hides conduit pipes and speakers. Light fixtures and sprinkler heads are enclosed in the BIOLINE strips.
Both projects will be recognized at the Awards and Keynote Breakfast March 21, 2013 during the CISCA Convention in San Antonio, Tex. The awards ceremony will feature a multi-media presentation highlighting all submissions and winning projects.
