The United Kingdom’s bathroom goods sector is about to see a fresh face with the launch of a new site dedicated to column radiators.

The new site,, is wholly devoted to all aspects of column radiators, which are increasingly considered by consumers and designers as a modern-day classic heating solution. This is a view shared by many industry commentators who see column radiators as a stylish option when compared to a standard panel radiator, which is the traditional choice of radiator in the UK.

The flexibility of these radiators is one reason for their popularity – they are equally at home in a clean modern setting or in a period home as an affordable alternative to antique cast iron radiators. As well as being affordable, these radiators are modern in design and manufacture. Their efficient operation delivers high heat output throughout the home.

The current popularity of these products makes them an ideal choice for the focus of a new site within an industry that has seen domestic growth in the United Kingdom amid turbulent financial times. Despite the continuing economic downturn and low forecasts for growth across other industries, Steve Jordan, marketing manager at ColumnRadiators4U, insists that now is an ideal time to launch such a site.

“In our experience, we have found that consumers can find it difficult to make choices over heating installations simply because of the vast number of products on the market,” he said. “By dedicating our site solely to column radiators – which are increasingly the most popular form of heating solution available - we believe that we are offering customers the information they need to make an informed choice in a crowded marketplace.”

Online retail in the UK is booming. According to the Centre for Retail Research in Nottingham, UK, online retail sales accounted for 12% of all retail sales in 2011, one of the highest levels of retail sales in Europe. This figure grew by a further 50% in 2012, rising to a staggering £78bn. This sector is one of the few areas of UK trade that is witnessing success, and many financial experts cite the online sector as boosting what would otherwise make grim financial forecasts for many UK industries.

Jordan believes that it is CR4U’s extensive range of products, clear and easy to understand product descriptions and a dedicated customer service team that will prove the decisive factors in the site’s success.

“As well as the standard RAL white colour offered by most manufacturers, we are also able to offer a wide range of colours and finishes,” he says. “We range from stock black colours and anthracite finishes, to just about any RAL colour available. We even have some colour samples available so customers can check the finish matches their room at home. Meanwhile, our website operates on the basis that online retail should be an easy, quick and positive experience for every customer. By offering the best possible range of products at the lowest possible price coupled with unsurpassed service we know our customers will be confident when they buy from us.”

With customer care and quality products at the heart of its mission statement, CR4U looks set to make a big impact on the bathroom goods industry.
