New businesses will diversify the economic base, helping protect the area from future economic shocks
Sutton, Surrey (PRWEB UK) 23 March 2013
The annual Duport Business Confidence Report for Sutton reveals that there were a record number of limited company formations in the town last year.
Between January and December, 863 new companies were formed - more than any other year on record for the area. Net company growth also rose during this period, although the UK company share of Sutton fell slightly.
Sutton Council is currently working hard to encourage inward investment, which could be a factor in the rising number of company formations. There are also a range of support services available to business start-ups, including free business advice sessions and networking events.
Managing Director of Duport.co.uk Peter Valaitis commented:
“The record number of company formations last year is a positive sign for the economy of Sutton. New businesses will diversify the economic base, helping protect the area from future economic shocks.”
