Launches Campaign on International Women’s Day

“Buy a Brick, Build a Dream” honors women and girls and supports programs improving their lives, an online volunteer community that empowers offline action to help women and girls live their dreams, will kick off a month-long campaign on International Women’s Day to honor women around the world.

The Buy a Brick, Build a Dream campaign, which starts March 8 and ends March 31, invites the public to purchase a virtual brick in honor of a special woman or girl by posting a picture with a unique message on a virtual wall. Proceeds will fund global programs that help women and girls achieve social and economic empowerment. is powered by Soroptimist.

“Maybe you’d like to send greetings to a special girl in your life, or honor a woman who inspires you. By participating in our Buy a Brick, Build a Dream campaign, you are supporting a community that celebrates the amazing women in our lives,” said Soroptimist President Raquel Arreola Ruiz. “Participation also funds programs that help women and girls throughout the world to achieve their potential. The larger the wall, the greater the support we can provide to help women and girls live their dreams.”

A $15 donation purchases one brick. Proceeds from the campaign will support Soroptimist programs, which help women and girls to achieve their educational goals; become economically empowered; leave abusive relationships; and reclaim their independence.
