Official Magazine of the Army National Guard Invites Readers to Watch the Articles, Hear the Words

The goal with the digital GX was to create a brand experience, a rich and interactive GX world complementing the print product. And the content just pulls you in.

This month, GX®: The Guard Experience, the official magazine of the Army National Guard, debuts a digital edition of the publication optimized for the iPad, now available as a free download in the Apple App Store. GX's award-winning design and editorial translated seamlessly into a digital publication format, offering an enhanced, interactive reading experience: Readers can connect to Army National Guard resources in real-time, share content on social media and watch exclusive videos produced by iostudio. The videos flow organically with the narrative of the articles, which maintains the integrity of GX’s readability.

Additional functionality includes scrollable timelines and photos, as well as pull-tabs allowing readers to interact with content while hidden captions bring photographs to the forefront. Digital publishing affords the capability to create a captive and dynamic environment without the distractions of a Web-based environment. It retains the “lean-back” experience of print, but incorporates the tracking and action of websites.
