It is our mission at ComputerSupport.com to be involved with the community and give back and this program allows us to work with youth to help them prepare for their careers.
BOSTON, MA (PRWEB) March 13, 2013
ComputerSupport.com has launched a volunteer program to continue their mission of giving back to the community. The first volunteer partnership is with the United Way of Tri-County’s Youth Venture Program. Representatives from ComputerSupport.com will present a skill-building workshop to a youth group to teach them about IT solutions in the business world. Volunteers will also work with youth one-on-one to mentor them in the field of computer consulting.
“We are so thrilled to be mentoring young people in the tri-county area,” said Kirill Bensonoff, of ComputerSupport.com. “It is our mission at ComputerSupport.com to be involved with the community and give back and this program allows us to work with youth to help them prepare for their careers.”
About the United Way Youth Venture
United Way Youth Venture inspires and invests in teams of young people ages 12-20 to design and launch lasting youth-led programs, clubs, or organizations that address community needs in the areas of Education, Health, Income, and Basic Needs. All the while, young people learn valuable skills for future academic or professional endeavors like critical thinking, time management, and goal-setting. UWYV is open to youth regardless of academic standing which sets it apart from many opportunities targeted at young people in this age bracket. Young people are challenged to use things they are passionate about to address issues they see in their communities. Each team of young people creates a youth-oriented business plan and spends 2-3 months completing this. Upon completion, they present their idea to a selection panel of local leaders and if approved, are eligible to receive a grant of up to $1,000 to start their project.
