UK based Mothercare, a specialty retailer of parenting and children's product is recalling four of its travel swings. The recall website for the product said swings that are returned will get a full refund.

The swings are being recalled because there is a risk that a child could cause the swing to fall forward or tip.

When choosing a swing, parents should carefully evaluate the choices.

A five-point harness keeps a baby more safe and secure. For these reasons, Kids II requires 5-point harnesses on all swings.

Parents must also check the swing frame. A wide base helps keep the swing steady while a child moves around in it. The frame should also be made out of durable material.

“Kids II has a rigorous and expansive testing program and meets the most stringent U.S., European, and International standards,” said Bob Coughlin, Product and Safety Expert at Kids II. “To meet the requirements, a product has to conform to dozens and dozens of pages of safety standards.”

In addition to proactively managing safety concerns, Kids II continuously monitors consumer comments and is always looking for ways to improve toys and juvenile products, utilizing the latest in design and technology.

“Parents can be assured that we will do everything we can to ensure a child has a happy, enjoyable and safe experience with our products,” Coughlin said.

Swings, like the ones being recalled, are called “travel swings” in the UK and “portable swings” in the US.
