Canadian designers find inspiration with Kobo Arc and fall/winter 2013 collections.

We are thrilled that we can help support these designers and foster innovation within the fashion community through our partnership with THE COLLECTIONS.

Kobo, a global leader in eReading, today announced that it has partnered with fashion show producer THE COLLECTIONS to support seven up-and-coming designers at this year’s World MasterCard® Fashion Week being held in Toronto, Canada, March 18-22. The designers, which include notable returning designers Chloé comme Parris, Sid Neigum, Thomas Bálint, Laura Siegel and Klaxon Howl, as well as new designers, LACERDA and Matthew Gallagher, used the Kobo Arc 7” Google-certified tablet to draw inspiration in creating and managing their looks leading into their shows.

“Design is part of Kobo’s DNA. Our emphasis on thinking about and talking to the people who use our products is how we’re able to create the best possible experiences around reading,” said Pamela Hilborn, Vice President, Product & Design, Kobo. “We are thrilled that we can help support these designers and foster innovation within the fashion community through our partnership with THE COLLECTIONS.”

The designers used the Kobo Arc devices to pin sketches, videos, pictures, websites and other items of inspiration to Kobo Tapestries, which creates connections to information of interest and gives users the freedom to organize and enjoy content how they choose. Kobo has won awards for its innovation in design and has been recognized by organizations like the French Institute of Design and IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America).

“Inspiration fuels design no matter what the medium,” said Parris Gordon, Owner/Designer, Chloé comme Parris. “The synergies in how Kobo approaches the design of its reading experience and the way a designer creates new innovations in fashion are truly inspirational.”

"We needed a partner that shared the same philosophies and focus on contemporary design, and we couldn't be more pleased to be aligning with such a design-focused brand as Kobo," said Dwayne Kennedy, Co-Founder and Fashion Director, THE COLLECTIONS. "Our designers absolutely loved using the Kobo Arc and Kobo Tapestries to find inspiration, review new designs, and go over their clothing sketches.”

As THE COLLECTIONS' title sponsor, Kobo's unique sense of style and design will be integrated into seven World MasterCard Fashion Week shows and be in all of THE COLLECTIONS' initiatives.
