All EMS agencies need an infection control program to help ensure that their responders can recognize and minimize the risks that communicable diseases pose to themselves, their workplace and the community at large. Action Training Systems’ newest series, Infection Control & Prevention, gives instructors the tools they need to help meet the initial and annual training requirements in bloodborne pathogens training and infection control training as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Action Training Systems’ 3-title Infection Control & Prevention series provides a systematic understanding of bloodborne, airborne and other diseases of concern to emergency responders. Some of the diseases discussed in the series include hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), tuberculosis (TB) and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
These programs demonstrate how to minimize or prevent the spread of diseases through proper precautions and infection control practices, and how to mitigate an exposure to communicable diseases.
