Sea Tow International was founded in 1983, and has gone on to help many recreational boaters out of potentially dangerous situations. After discovering that the valuable service was celebrating its 30th anniversary, the editor at UsedBoatMotors.com congratulated the founders.
The staff at Used Boat Motors wanted to congratulate the couple of people that have made the lives of many boaters much easier and safer. Sea Tow Services International, which has functioned similar to the AAA service, only for watercraft, has helped out many recreational boaters over their 30 year career, and Used Boat Motors just wanted to say thanks.
Sea Tow Services International was founded in 1983 by Captain Joe Frohnhoefer and his wife, Georgia, after the United States Coast Guard privatized non-emergency distress calls. Today, Sea Tow employs over 700 captains, spread throughout over 100 locations worldwide. They’re ready to help with any near emergency, from bringing out additional fuel, to a jump start for dead used boat motors, to even a tow back to shore. If any boaters are ever in need on the water, they’ll be thankful that such a service is available.
In closing, UBM says congratulations to Joe and Georgia Frohnhoefer, thanks them for their knowledge of difficult maritime situations and attention to detail, and hopes to see Sea Tow Services International around for another thirty years, at least.
When someone thinks of boating rescues, the United States Coast Guard springs to mind first, for most. However, for the more prosaic, daily sort of emergencies, whether it’s a dead engine or low fuel reserves, many boaters think first of Joe and Georgia Frohnhoefer, and their company, Sea Tow International. Used Boat Motors thanks them for their 30 long years of invaluable service to the boating community.
