"We built QuotEd ACT Science because it’s the section of the ACT that scares both teachers and students the most,” said Knerr. “QuotEd intends to remove that fear and dispel the myth that the ACT is about science.”

Knerr Learning Center announces the beta launch of QuotEd ACT Science, just in time to help students prepare for the April 13th ACT. This is the second release for Knerr Learning Center’s line of unique education apps for iTunes and Android. Under the direction of critical thinking and standardized test researcher Kreigh Knerr, Knerr Learning Center is steadily launching its QuotEd line of iPhone and Android apps.
With its latest release, Knerr Learning Center continues to build its educational support products for what is quickly becoming the primary form of online interaction for many teenagers, not to mention adults. Requiring only their tablet or phone at hand, students are able to prepare for the ACT no matter where they are in the world. International sales of the first app have been brisk.
While most ACT prep books sell for $15-$30 and ACT prep courses can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars, QuotEd ACT Science is available for only $0.99 while it is still in beta. It features a strategy section for almost any ACT science scenario, a glossary of common ACT science terms (including geology and astronomy), and a sampling of ACT science passages, with an additional new question released each weekday.
After creating paper-based ACT science materials in 2010 that saw the average student’s ACT science section score jump three points, Knerr Learning Center expanded its attention to include the mobile platform in 2012. Instead of republishing QuotEd’s paper-based products or forcing web-based materials into the tiny frame of a smartphone, QuotEd ACT Science is uniquely designed to accommodate both the size and probability of interruption that smartphones have.
With Wisconsin moving towards universal adoption of the ACT, QuotEd ACT Science serves two major groups. The most obvious group is smartphone-carrying students, many of whom have too many activities to coordinate consistent ACT study independently or with instruction.
The other group is teachers who can utilize Apple or Android apps in the classroom. “Teachers know the ACT science isn’t real science, but are forced to prepare their students for that section anyway,” said Knerr. “With QuotEd, teachers can quickly run their class through a daily 2-3 minute ACT Science warm-up instead of wasting 6-10 minutes of valuable class time on a full section.”
QuotEd presents students and teachers with the necessary information for the ACT Science section so that they don’t have to neglect other activities. “We built QuotEd ACT Science because it’s the section of the ACT that scares both teachers and students the most,” said Knerr. “QuotEd intends to remove that fear and dispel the myth that the ACT is about science.”
Available in Android and Apple markets, QuotEd has two apps: its flagship literacy app, “QuotEd Reading Comprehension,” and the newly christened “QuotEd ACT Science.” QuotEd Reading Comprehension received attention from Milwaukee’s Lake Effect, Huffington Post, and Business Insider in addition to rave reviews in the Android and iTunes app stores and a GMAT prep blog. QuotEd’s apps are designed to fit within the frenetic interruptions of everyday life , and while they are challenging and instructive, they work to calm test anxiety through their format of one new question each weekday which allows for accelerated incremental growth.
