NCH discusses the introduction of hypnotherapy antenatal classes in the London boroughs of Chelsea and Romford.

The NCH has long been making others aware of the benefits of hypnotherapy for expectant mothers

Expectant parents who are residents in London are being offered hypnotherapy classes in a pioneering scheme. The antenatal classes are available at two London locations – the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Queen’s Hospital in Romford.

The new model named the Natural Birth Preparation Workshop is offered as an additional service for mums to be at a cost of £190. The innovative approach consists of a two day course with the aim of preparing couples mentally, emotionally and physically for giving birth and helping to lower pain, increase satisfaction with the birth experience and lower levels of intervention.

The classes are proving popular and have been fully booked since the launch.
The introduction of this to NHS hospitals is great news for the National Council for Hypnotherapy as a spokesperson explained, ‘The NCH has long been making others aware of the benefits of hypnotherapy for expectant mothers and it is great news that the National Health Service has decided to make this available at a small cost. It has already proved popular at the two locations and we hope that they take the decision to widen the scheme further.’

The National Council for Hypnotherapy continues to raise awareness of the benefits of hypnotherapy.
