On March 22, Yumi Media, a food website devoted to delivering the latest and greatest in food news, recipes, and products to incorporate into your own healthy lifestyle, offers congratulations to Latin pop star Ricky Martin for his commitment to a vegetarian lifestyle.
According to Queerty, PETA has just announced that it is honoring the singer, a recent convert to vegetarianism, by sponsoring a rescued chicken on his behalf.
“Olivia was rescued by Florida’s Kindred Spirits Sanctuary, where she is now thriving,” states PETA. “She spends her days taking dust baths, roosting in trees, and relaxing in the sun.”
Queerty reports that “PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman praises Martin’s switch to a meat-free diet, a change [Martin] recently tweeted about.”
Reiman stated that people who go vegetarian “boost their energy and cut their risk of heart disease, cancer, and obesity—and they help save animals like Olivia, too.”
“We offer our sincerest congratulations to Martin and his commitment to the vegetarian lifestyle,” states Yumi media representative Justin Maas. “It takes a true level of commitment to become a vegetarian. The benefits of such a lifestyle are staggering. It amazes me that more people are not converting sooner.”
“Martin should be considered a staple within the vegetarian community. Martin might want to consider trying Quorn meatless meals to affirm his commitment to such a healthy lifestyle. Quorn vegetarian meals are incredibly good at replicating the experience of eating meat and offer better health benefits than a meat patty ever would. Good luck to Ricky Martin on his quest for good health.”
