The SSAE 16 audit and SOC 1 certification reaffirms our company’s commitment to meet the highest standards for security and availability, while making sure all of the appropriate controls and safeguards are firmly in place.
MADISON, Wis. (PRWEB) March 25, 2013
Data centers operated by VISI and Vital Support Systems in the Midwest are included in the TDS HMS SSAE 16 Type 2 Audits.
TDS Hosted and Managed Services, LLC (TDS HMS) announced today that its data centers and managed services, operated by Vital Supports Systems and VISI, remain SSAE 16 (SOC 1) Type 2 audited.
The Service Organization Control (SOC 1) reports are performed by a Certified Public Accountant in accordance with the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 audit.
“The SSAE 16 audit and SOC 1 certification reaffirms our company’s commitment to meet the highest standards for security and availability, while making sure all of the appropriate controls and safeguards are firmly in place,” said Clint Harder, vice president of Product Strategy for TDS HMS. “The audits are third party validation that we deliver what we promise, and ensure that our customers’ equipment and data is available, secure, and managed in-line with industry best practices.”
The SSAE 16 audit requires TDS HMS management to present an assessment and written assertion of the controls, to which a third-party auditor holds them accountable. The report provides substantial insight into the people, processes, and technology used to effectively achieve all the control objectives. These objectives include: physical security, availability and change management, incident and event management, IT continuity and request management.
“The SSAE 16 audit provides our customers with reassurance and confidence they’ve chosen a partner who is able to operate a secure, reliable, and prepared data center,” says Harder.
TDS HMS data centers included in this SSAE 16 (SOC 1) Type 2 audit are located in: Eden Prairie and St. Paul, Minn.; Madison, Wis.; and Cedar Falls and Des Moines, Iowa.
