TechXtend Announces “Riding the Crest” Awards for 2012

Winners include CA ERwin Data Modeler, Dell ActiveRoles Server, Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE, Microsoft Visual Studio, Sophos Endpoint Protection, StorageCraft ShadowProtect, and VMware vSphere

Now in their 17th year, the Riding the Crest awards are presented annually as TechXtend recognizes the leading selling products in its solution portfolios.

The overall solution category winners were: VMware vSphere® for cloud computing/virtualization; CA ERwin® Data Modeler for business intelligence & information management; Dell ActiveRoles Server for storage & infrastructure management; and Microsoft® Visual Studio® for developer & productivity tools.

For the 14th consecutive year, CA Technologies’ CA ERwin Data Modeler product was recognized as an overall category winner for business intelligence & information management. CA Technologies also picked up a Riding the Crest award for CA ARCserve® Backup for Microsoft Windows in the storage & infrastructure management – business continuity/disaster recovery category.

Speaking to CA ERwin’s Riding the Crest Award and recognition, Erin Malone, Vice President of Channel Sales for the Data Management business at CA Technologies, stated, “CA ERwin makes it easier than ever for organizations to collaborate and visualize their diverse business data assets. Dell Software was a multiple Riding the Crest Award winner. Dell ActiveRoles Server won for storage & infrastructure management – system management, while Dell Authentication Services won for policy administration & access control. Topping the management & administration category for business intelligence & information management was Dell’s LiteSpeed Enterprise for SQL Server.

Intel Software was a repeat Riding the Crest software developer tools winner. Intel’s compiler products Intel C++ Composer XE and Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE were winners in the developer tools: C++ and developer tools: Fortran categories respectively. Both of these products are available as part of the Intel Parallel Studio XE and Intel Cluster Studio XE developer product suites.

The Riding the Crest award is a testament to StorageCraft’s best-in-class backup and disaster recovery solutions,” said Curt James, vice president of Marketing and Business Development for StorageCraft Technology Corporation.

Repeating as a Riding the Crest winner for storage & infrastructure management – security was Sophos for its market-leading Sophos Endpoint Protection solution. “We’re excited to once again be recognized by TechXtend.
