"The Focus Fusion Society believes many approaches to research plasma fusion energy need to be explored. The lack of research dollars over decades has hindered fusion energy replacing carbon fuels as the primary source of energy for mankind."
Marlborough, MA (PRWEB) March 27, 2013
The following petition was submitted to the White house web site:
Increase spending on Hydrogen Plasma/Fusion Energy Research by $100 Billion over ten years
The Nuclear Fusion Energy Research Program in the US needs a jumpstart. Fusion energy has greater potential than all fossil fuels, nuclear fission and renewable energies combined. Renewable energy sources are limited by nature. With Hydrogen Nuclear Fusion, we are limited only by our imaginations.
More information is available at FusionPetition.us. The petition is live for 30 days and timed to close on Earth Day. $100 Billion over ten years is too big for industry, yet can be easily achieved with government resources. This petition was submitted to the Whitehouse web site because we have not made significant investments in advanced energy research for decades. This is about long-term downsizing of the carbon fuel colossus for good. The result will benefit mankind for generations.
If organizations wish to support this petition, please follow the following steps:
- Communicate links for the petition and/or http://FusionPetition.us to your members & support group.
- Send out a press release in support of this petition on April 1, 2013, 1:13am to be part of an April Fools joke on the conservative movement.
o Use the term “carbon fuel colossus” to embellish your opinion.
o Include a link to both the Petition page on the White House web site and http://FusionPetition.us.
o Send a copy of your press release to: PR(at)FusionPetition(dot)us
The response should address how the money is spent and funded. Much of the conservative movement will disagree with this use of large, long-term investments for scientific research. This is contrary to US history, which is full of large successful projects including the Hoover Dam, the Atomic Bomb, the space program and the Internet. If we continued investing in fusion research back in the 1980s, we could have had fusion power by now.
