Veterans Help Portal to Launch with a Goal to Help Every Veteran

from movie discounts to housing let’s honor the veterans of this great nation., the world's first complete Yellow Pages wiki, which recently announced its public beta launch and its existence as one of the largest wikis in the world with over ten million pages, has partnered with Hire a Vet, to announce they're launching a Veterans Portal., think Wikipedia meets Yelp, is structured to allow the creation of specialized sub-pages underneath a listing so employment offers, discounts, coupons, etc., can be listed. With the announcement today,, in partnership with Hire a Vet, has added a specialized sub-page just for veterans.

After some of the longest wars in American history the demand for Veteran services has never been higher, but trying to access and find those services has sometimes been an exercise in bureaucrat wonderment. “Call it a divine accident,” said Chris Tharp, founder of, “I’ve known Jesse Medina, the founder of Hire A Vet Today, for years, but never thought of a tie in with his services and Yellpedia until he called me. He always wanted to build an easy to use directory that would yet veterans search for employment, education, health, housing, re-integration help, training and discounts, which luck would have it, is all easy to do within Yellpedia.”

On April 8, 2013 an open registration for companies interested in being able to offer veterans anything doing with employment, health services, housing, re-integration help, training and discounts, will start on Since, is a yellow pages, every type of organization may register, which allows everyone from the local dentist to Walmart to join and help veterans. “The heroes of this nation deserve every type of help we can give them and we hope this makes it easy for every veteran to find what they need,” Tharp stated, “from movie discounts to housing let’s honor the veterans of this great nation.”

Currently is planning to open the Veterans Portal on June 3, 2013 to veterans. The portal will have specialized searches for veterans looking for employment, health, housing, etc. Veterans will not have to register, or even be a member of the site, which allows them to search for any need in complete privacy. And they don't need to speak bureaucratize.


Yellpedia, is a yellow pages wiki, build on the same software as Wikipedia, but modified to allow the embedding of videos, documents, photos and more. Each listing allows the creation of specialized sub-pages to create shopping pages, coupon pages, etc., which are only editable by the creator of the page. For organizations offering services to veterans a specialized sub-page form has been added to every listing making it very easy for every organization to create a veterans help page.
