Sweet 16 Bracket 2013
Millions of basketball fans around the country had their bracket sheet blown up over the weekend.

Big upsets, buzzer beaters and heart-stopping finishes were all a part of the opening week of March Madness 2013. While the excitement associated with the opening week cannot be denied, many are left with busted brackets after the flurry of upsets. For those who have seen their hopes of winning a March Madness office pool evaporate, Printable Brackets is offering fans a chance to hit the reset button with the Sweet 16 bracket.

“Millions of basketball fans around the country had their bracket sheet blown up over the weekend,” said Printable Brackets spokesman Zaniel Worth. “Our complimentary sheet allows fans to start up a new office pool and stay in the game.”

In the East region, Florida Gulf Coast became the first 15 seed to ever reach the Sweet 16 after notching a 10-point win over San Diego State in the third round. The victory came after the school shocked second-seeded Georgetown.

Out West, La Salle used a pair of two-point victories over Kansas State and Ole Miss to lock up a spot in the Sweet 16. La Salle also had to beat Boise State in a “First Four” game just for the right to meet Kansas State. Also in the West region, Wichita State took out top-seeded Gonzaga, 76-70, in the third round.

“Many basketball experts predicted there would be a number of upsets during the opening rounds and the smaller schools did not disappoint,” said Worth. “The level of parity we saw during the regular season carried over to the first week of March Madness.”

In addition to Florida Gulf Coast, Wichita State and La Salle, top seeds Louisville, Kansas and Indiana all advanced. Others in the Sweet 16 include Oregon, Michigan State, Duke, Arizona, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, Syracuse, Marquette and Miami.

The Sweet 16 field is a great mix of national powers and Cinderella stories,” said Worth. “Filling out one of our Sweet 16 bracket sheets won’t be as easy as some may think and posting a clean, error-free sheet will be extremely difficult.”
