Our emphasis is on quality and craftsmanship plus an attention to detail, and this remains at the core of the business
Stockport, Cheshire (PRWEB) March 28, 2013
The Stockport based profile bending specialists, Force 8, has constantly been at the forefront by investing in new technology, entering the profile bending market in 1999. They very quickly developed a one-piece bend system, using a hot oil process, producing a seamless arch.
Force 8’s seamless system is unique to the market and the manufacturing processes are fully automated with the latest CNC technology, rather than using the traditional method of using separate sections of profile, which create weak points at the joints.
“Our emphasis is on quality and craftsmanship plus an attention to detail, and this remains at the core of the business,” comments Dennis Sumner, the managing director of Force 8.
The company’s new variable angle computer controlled double mitre saw, optimises for all shapes and sizes of arches, angles and square frames, allowing mixed batching. The main advantage is that it can vastly save on material wastage; therefore it will increase accuracy and production time and is believed to be unique in the industry.
The machine is gear driven rather than belt, so there is no slippage or loss of accuracy. It was part of an investment of around £205,000, which demonstrates Force 8’s commitment to the market sector even in these turbulent times.
Previously the bending process was very time consuming as the profile bend was carried out first using hardboard or MDF templates, and then brought through to the next process, where it was measured and checked.
The measurements were then used to cut the rest of the profile and complete the frame. The new software is so accurate that now the profile can be cut at the same time as the bending process is taking place, eliminating the need for fitting therefore cutting in half the production time. Once the process is complete, the components are fitted together with a near perfect match with a quality that is second to none.
Force 8 can also supply the glazing ensuring all products comply with new CE marking which will become mandatory on 1st July 2013. Due to the accuracy of the new system, the software can specify the glass shape at the same time as it calculates the frame.
With the advent of CE Marking set to come into force this year, there is still some confusion within the industry in regards to how it will work.
“The main point from an installers point of view, is that if he brings the products together, i.e. buying in glass and frames from different companies it will be their responsibility to CE mark, which involves management systems for proof of compliance”, comments Dennis.
“What we can offer at Force 8 is the complete job with CE mark, so the installer has nothing to worry about”.
“Producing arched frames has always been one of our core products and we have strived to streamline our production reducing the lead time but maintaining a quality service,” comments Dennis Sumner, Managing Director at Force 8.
“Our main concern was maintaining the quality of the products and service to our customers which we have become synonymous with. We were surprised by how efficiently the system works and are extremely pleased with the results. This has enabled us to offer arched frames on a 48 turn round, nationwide, which is another first for the industry”.
Round pivot windows are notoriously one of the most difficult to fabricate, Force 8 produce these with ease using Rehau profile, each of the windows have a total of eight bends to create the perfect circle.
The new pivot window is completely reversible through 180º, which makes it easy to clean when necessary. As with all Force 8 products, security is a vital element of any new design, so there are catches at the top and bottom to ensure the safety and security of users.
Dennis comments that he expects demand to come from both the retail and commercial sectors where the Rehau brand is so strong.
“Round pivot windows add an interesting design feature in domestic properties and are also used extensively as part of commercial design schemes. We believe that they have the potential to create valuable new sales opportunities for installers, particularly in Rehau profile which is so renowned for its quality and ease of installation.”
Force 8 has produced a new 52-page brochure showcasing their product range. The stunning photography, specially commissioned for the brochure, sets it apart from the standard composite door catalogue, as it features the company’s unique arched frames.
“We have been listening to what our customers want, and with that in mind we have produced two version of the brochure”, comments Dennis. “The original version branded as the ‘The Force8 Composite Collection’, and a new one, branded as ‘The Ultimate Collection’, for customers who want to use their own branding”.
“The new investment in technology is just part of the latest innovations from the company. All this is backed by over 20 years’ experience from an established family run business, and within that time Force 8 have been listening, and meeting the needs of both the commercial and the residential sector”, commented Dennis. “We will continue to innovate and push the envelope as we believe in evolution, after all if you don’t evolve, you become extinct”.
Force 8 has showrooms in both Stockport and Altrincham and are open from 8.30am (GMT) to 4pm so customers can see the product for themselves as well as being able to ask any question they need to one of the experts. For more information please visit http://www.force8.co.uk
