The Grant County Chamber of Commerce is ushering in a bounty of activities for the 21st Annual Spring Mountain Festival in Petersburg, WV. The festival, taking place Friday, April 26 to Sunday, April 28, 2013, will feature music, food, crafts, a fine art display, antique car show, a golf tournament, Civil War train rides, 10K race and a parade. Events will be held at the Petersburg City Park and admission is free.
Three days of musical talent are lined up for the festival, starting with country music band Raw County on Friday night. Country-rockers Chris Higbee, Shane Thomas and Tylor Bailey will rock the stage on Saturday, and country gospel singer Josh Oldaker will perform on Sunday.
Food and craft vendors and inflatable rides for children will be open on Friday and Saturday for families to enjoy. A flea market and The Albert Mach Fine Art Display, featuring 250 fine art pictures of “Our Civil War Heritage”, will be available to visit all three days of the festival.

Friday features the Twelfth Annual Spring Fling Golf Tournament and praise and worship music by local musicians. Saturday morning features the 10K Run, followed by the Spring Mountain Festival Parade at 10 a.m., where the Spring Mountain Festival Pageant winners will be announced. Visitors will also have the chance to experience the Civil War train rides, featuring stories and skits of the Civil War, at the South Side Depot on Saturday.
Sunday’s activities include an antique car, truck, tractor and engine show along with a separate a motorcycle show. The Spring Mountain Fools Race will also be on Sunday, where contestants can enter “anything that floats” to race along the banks of the Potomac at the City Park.
