Embry-Riddle, IEEC to Offer B.S. in Aviation Business Administration in Singapore

The new partnership will expand Embry-Riddle's degree programs in Singapore and addresses the growing demand for access to full-time aviation/aerospace degree programs.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Asia and the International Executive Education Center (IEEC) have reached an agreement to deliver full-time aviation/aerospace bachelor degree programs in Singapore.

The Council for Private Education (CPE) approved Embry-Riddle’s Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration (BSABA) program March 26, 2013, and the University plans to start teaching the degree program in July.

Unlike other Embry-Riddle programs already being offered in partnership with SIM University and the Singapore Aviation Academy for adult part-time students, this full-time program has been designed for students who want to have careers in aviation and who recognize that this degree will help achieve that ambition.

The Embry-Riddle BSABA degree will be delivered at IEEC’s classroom facilities by Embry-Riddle faculty, most of whom will travel to Singapore from the United States each semester. Although the program is designed to be completed in three years, polytechnic diploma holders may be eligible for significant course exemptions, allowing them to complete the program in less time.

“This is a significant milestone for Embry-Riddle and our campus in Singapore,” said Dr. John Watret, Chancellor of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide and Chairman of Embry-Riddle Asia. “Since Embry-Riddle’s 2011 launch in Singapore, there’s been a strong demand for a full-time delivery of our programs. We’re extremely excited to add an option for students who are interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree before entering the workforce. This partnership enables Embry-Riddle to deliver its world-class aviation/aerospace degrees in a manner similar to our U.S. residential campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona.”

David Barker, International Executive Education Center’s Managing Director said, “The partnership with Embry-Riddle is an exciting addition to our list of partner universities and enhances our ability to address the growing demand for aviation/aerospace professionals in Singapore and the surrounding region.”

The BSABA degree is the first Embry-Riddle degree to be approved by the CPE. In the future, additional aviation degrees will be proposed to CPE to support all sectors of Singapore’s burgeoning aviation industry. Applications for the inaugural BSABA intake will open shortly and interested students are encouraged to contact IEEC and Embry-Riddle.
