Naperville tutoring firm West Suburban Educational Associates is hosting a Summer Activities Open House to provide students, families and friends the opportunity to say "good bye" to retiring co-founder Becky Bewersdorf, as well as to meet WSEA tutors and see the terrific tutoring programs WSEA has in store for students this summer.

West Suburban Educational Associates (WSEA), a Naperville-area tutoring firm, will hold a Summer Activities Open House on April 25, from 3:30 to 6:30, at Grace United Methodist Church in Naperville. The Open House will provide students, families and friends with the opportunity to officially say “good bye” to retiring co-founder Becky Bewersdorf, as well as to meet and greet new WSEA tutors, current tutors and even a few former tutors, too. The Open House will also highlight the terrific programming WSEA has in store for students this summer.

Co-founder Camille Jones explained, “The open house is a chance for our students and families to formally say goodbye to Becky, say hello to new faces, and learn about our exciting summer lineup. We hope to see old friends and also meet some new ones on April 25.”

WSEA recently announced that Bewersdorf will step down in June, leaving full management of the business to Jones. To help with the company’s expanded programming and new managerial structure, WSEA hired two directors: Jennifer Bredberg and Diane Nelson.

Bredberg, who previously tutored middle and high school students at WSEA, has stepped into the role of Secondary Director for grades 6-12. Nelson, a WSEA elementary school tutor and former Wheaton teacher, became Elementary Director of grades K-5 earlier this year.

WSEA has earned wide acclaim as a thriving tutoring firm in a tough economic climate. The business was honored as a semifinalist for the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year Award in 2010 and 2012. WSEA is proud to employ nearly 30 experienced, certified teachers and experts in elementary and secondary education.

With a busy summer planned, Jones, Bredberg and Nelson will have their hands full. WSEA offers a full summer schedule, including half-day camps in July, week-long review classes in August, and semiprivate and private tutoring programs in all subjects in June, July, and August. Students can also sign up for “Tutor in a Taxi,” WSEA’s summertime at-home tutoring service for all subjects, grades K-8. WSEA is also offering several new camps to entice students with novel themes, including Pirates and Princesses Camp, Weird School Camp, Chocolate Camp, and Mysteries Camp. Returning again this year are WSEA’s popular back-to-school workshops, such as August Brush-Up for grades 1-2, Math Facts Blitz for grades 3-5, and Speed Reading and Comprehension for grades 6-12.

The upcoming Summer Activities Open House is open to the public and will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Gartner Road, Room 224, Naperville, IL, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on April 25. Refreshments will be served. No registration is required.
